The incomparable Maestro Alexander Vasiliev presents his author’s mono-performance “Fashion and Eroticism”.
What subtle — and sometimes entirely obvious — stylistic devices have people used in clothing to attract the opposite sex?
How have shifting attitudes towards sexuality influenced the development of fashion?
What ideals of male and female beauty dominated in different eras?
You will hear detailed, unexpected, and occasionally paradoxical insights from the renowned Fashion Historian himself.
In his lecture-performance, Alexander Vasiliev addresses delicate themes such as intimacy, eroticism, and relationships between the sexes. He also explores how philosophy, cultural and sexual revolutions, and the evolution of gender dynamics have shaped the history and development of fashion.
The Maestro offers a fresh perspective on fashion — through the lens of twentieth-century social morals and cultural attitudes.
A wonderful gift for the women in your life this International Women’s Day.
